The original template for making puzzles including straight edges and corners is still available and has been updated to include 4 piece jigsaws. It will of course do a good job but it's not the simplest technique to follow and the finished pieces are difficult to scale and cannot easily by adjusted for brightness, contrast and tint (2007 only). This is because they rely on following the background fill. We provide instructions for making "real" pieces independant of the background but this is another level of complication in the template version.

Enter the new Jigsaw Maker.

This uses vba to trim your picture into jigsaw shapes. Real shapes that can be scaled and adjusted with all picture tools in PowerPoint either individually or together. Each piece can take any animation including motion paths and text can be animated with the piece. If you wish you can also make plain pieces or "old style" background fill pieces. The transparent fill option looks great when animated over a picture! The process is as simple as clicking a button and works in PowerPoint 2002 - 2007. You may have met a bug in PowerPoint 2002/ 3 that causes shapes with a background fill to appear solid coloured. This bug is still there even with SP3 but the AddIn has a patch to fix it.
