Animate PART of a Line in PowerPoint

A common use of this method is to have the first part of a line / paragraph as a question and the second part as the answer.

The user wants to animate the first part to appear on click and then the answerr to show on a second click.

Most people will tell you this cannot be done and you will have to put question and answer in seperate boxes. This causes problems with alignment though and makes it harder to change the question.

A Trick to Make this Happen

Step 1

Add the question and answer on one line (or more than one if you wish

Step 2

Make the ANSWER text only the same color as the slide background.

Step 3

Add a click animation to make all the line appear (The answer will be invisible)

Step 4

Use ADD ANIMATION to add a second click animation to ALL of the same line. This time use an animation like BRUSH ON COLOR to change the color to the original color of the answer text.

On the second click the Answer 'Appears@ and the Question isappears unchanged.
