Chart Bug PowerPoint 2013

If you create a chart in PPT 2013 and add data labels and THEN manually edit the labels as in this screenshot for example:

Everything works fine BUT open the file in an earlier version and the data label can be corrupted.

In 2010 it may look like this:

This seems to be a bug (we have reported it)

The only solution until it is fixed seems to be to re-edit the chart in 2010 and then it will open correctly in 2013. Not great we know!

CORRECTION This doesn't really work as the label will no longer update in the values are changed.

The ability to have custom labels or value from cell was only added in 2013 version. 2010 cannot at the moment read the data and shows [VALUE] or similar text.
