Where Is the Animation Symbol in 2007?

If you have any other version of PowerPoint and add animation to a slide you will see a little symbol in the thumbnail view to indicate that the slide contains animation.

Animation Symbol in 2010

If you have 2007 on Windows 7 (and probably Vista) you may find this symbol is missing. Strangely if you hover the mouse over where it SHOULD be it will appear.

There's a very simple (but not at all obvious) solution.

RIGHT click a blank area of the desktop and choose Properties.

In Themes select Windows 7 Basic.

See if the symbol is back!
