PowerPoint Viewer 2010 Has a Menu Bar and is NOT Full Screen!!

You open the latest viewer and choose a file to play there are black bars and you can see a menu! Why can't it just show the slides like the old viewer?

Here's How to Fix:

First locate the PPTVIEW.exe file - probably in PROGRAMFILES\Microsoft Office\Office 14.0)

When you find it RIGHT click and send to Desktop (Create Shortcut). Right click on the new Shortcut and >> Properties. In the box labelled "Target" add to the address after the last " SPACE /f. It will probably now look something like:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft office\Office 14\PPTVIEW.exe" /f

/f is a switch for Full Screen and if you start the viewer with this shortcut you should get a full screen vew

Switch address

Please note MSFT no longer support the 2010 viewer and if you do not already have Service Pack 1 you may  find it difficult to obtain in future and it has several major fixes.
